Delivery Driver – Lumber

686 Industrial Blvd, Delta, CO 81416Full-time — Non-exempt$24–$28 per hour, commensurate with experience

A Delivery Driver for our commercial lumber yard is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of building materials to local residential and commercial job sites. This role involves both precision driving and physically demanding manual labor.

Core Responsibilities

Localized Delivery

Transport lumber, rebar, and other building supplies to specified customer locations

Load Management

Secure all loads using straps or chains to prevent shifting during transit

Customer Service

Act as the primary point of contact at delivery sites
Assist with the accurate unloading and staging of materials

Vehicle Maintenance

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety
Maintain compliance with company and DOT standards

Order Accuracy

Verify items against invoices to ensure all products are delivered correctly
Keep accurate records of delivery confirmation

Yard Support

Assist with building loads, organizing inventory, and loading other trucks when not on a delivery route

Qualifications & Requirements

Required

Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Class B CDL
Must be at least 21 years old to meet commercial driving standards
Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification for loading and unloading
Must be able to lift and move 50–100 lbs frequently and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Preferred

Class A CDL — regarded as an additional benefit and qualification

Key Skills

Strong knowledge of the local area and experience with GPS routing systems
Excellent time management and communication skills to meet strict delivery windows
Basic math skills for inventory counts and verifying order quantities

Compensation & Benefits

$24–$28 per hour, commensurate with experience
Overtime available and/or required based on seasonality
Based out of Delta, Montrose, or Grand Junction, Colorado
